It's Monday and I am sitting here listening to Pandora. Can I say I love WiTopia and the ability to make it look like we are in the US so we can use xfinity and pandora and other really cool things.
It's days like this when I realize how many first class problems I have. Like the printer not working. I doubt half the kids in Peru even know what a printer is.
Anyways, this didn't really have a purpose. I've been spending some time volunteering. Check it out at my other blog. justdarcie-inperu.blogspot.com
Peace,
Darcie

Twenty-Fourteen
So it's Twenty-Fourteen. Actually it's Twenty one days into Twenty-Fourteen.
Here are my highlights of 2013:
I graduated from Highschool. It only took three of 'em!
I graduated from Seminary. The graduation was kind of awkward, but oh well.
(This was technically at the end of 2012 but whatever)
I saw the Nutcracker for the first time in my life. It was as amazing as I imagined it to be.
I celebrated my 18th birthday with my dearest friend and cousin Heidi.
She turned 17 two days before so we celebrated her birthday too.
We moved to Lima Peru.
It was a HUGE change, despite living in Arequipa before.
We went to Orlando, Florida.
I saw the Blue Man Group. It was my second time and I loved it,
I got a t-shirt out of it and some wonderful memories.
We did Universal studious for the first time ever. (:
I got to talk to Zachary twice on skype, on Mothers day and Christmas.
He comes home in September.
As it is now 2014 I thought I should write the 14 things I am most excited for this new year:
- University. Well.. being accepted to a university. I have a few choices in mind and am looking forward to starting next January.
- Volunteering. I would really like to do something that profits others instead of myself before starting college and getting caught up in the world.
- Friends. I would love to see friends from Canada this year, but I am also looking forward to making new friends. I've already made a few in Peru that I think will still around, so... should be easy, right?
- Writing. I will finish my Macy Celeste story.
- Health. This year I want to be better about myself. Better learn now than when I am 40 and miserable.
- Becoming closer to God. I want to improve my relationship with God.
- Traveling. I hope to see Machu Pichu while living here, and I would also love to visit Lake Titicaca (the floating islands) and see that village on top of the mountain.
- Reading. I want to finish reading all of Jane Austen's novels as well as the rest of my reading list. Which I will get to in a minute.
- Girls night. Cousins only. Its been 6 months since I have seen my gorgeous cousin and I miss her so much, she is my best friend! I have a LONG list of fun things we are going to do this summer. It'll be awesome.
- Sugar Cookie Day. Did you know there is a national sugar cookie day? I found out last month and so, I will be celebrating it this year. It's July 9th so mark it on your calendar.
- Journal. I WILL keep up my journal writing this year.
- Hair cut. I've decided, and I have been thinking this for a while, that I need bangs. So this year when I get a hair cut (waiting for Utah, so like 6ish months) I will not be indecisive.
- New glasses. And contacts. Lets face it- I NEED new glasses, and this year I've decided that contacts would be great too. Yep, a whole new me (again- waiting for Utah)
- Utah. I've mentioned it a few times now- I can't wait to go visit Utah in the Summer. I want to see all my family and sleep in my own bed. Plus I accidently left two pairs of shoes there and would like them back. My room *sigh* I can just imagine how I left it. I want to see all my things that I left there.
Happy Twenty-Fourteen everyone! Sorry it's twenty one days late!

Florida Part One
So, we went to nice warm sunny Florida for two weeks in November and it was pretty great. We did Universal studios (The Wizzarding World of Harry Potter is epic) and Disney. We also h a few down day spent relaxing on the beach or by the pool.
The first day we just did some shopping at Target. We went a little overboard, being excited and all. I forgot to buy candy corn and the Christmas Hershey kisses (Santa?)
The 2nd day we did Universal Studios, We started with Harry Potter.

A Rather Large Bird
We
went
shopping
and
it
was
crazy.
We went to the mall on Saturday, and while my mom was busy looking at table cloths or something
in her favorite store Casa & Ideas, Marissa and I went into Saga Falabella to look for some hair clips.
in her favorite store Casa & Ideas, Marissa and I went into Saga Falabella to look for some hair clips.
Shopping is shopping so we figured we would be okay.
It is the most confusing, annoying process.
Let me explain.
There are little kiosks all over the store, with merchandise around it.
So you choose your merchandise, and then you give it to the lady at the kiosk by it.
She then prints you off a receipt and sends you to the Caja- the cash register.
There you give them the receipt and pay.
And then they give you another receipt.
You then take your receipt back to the kiosk where they check it
and give you your stuff along with another receipt.
So,
by the time you are through, you have talked to several people,
been in several lines,
and have a dozen receipts in your pockets.
But we did see this weird but cool ostrich display by the jeans.
And of course took a picture of tit.
Marissa didn't get the point of it, but let me take her picture anyways.
I dont know why but my shoulder looks huge and awkward in this photo.
And it looks like I cut off all my hair because I pulled it back into a bun.
Smile (:

Books, the Fall, and Vacations
It has always been my dream to publish a book. And one day I will. It's one of those goals that I know I will achieve, when the time is write. (:
I am actually really excited about the story I am working on right now, it combines three separate stories into one, and is filled with magic, romance, and heroes, both male and female.
I have been spending a lot of time trying to develop the plot and add details. I will share a bit of it when I think it's ready. Speaking of writing- I have a pen pal. She is 15 and lives in Australia, it has been a lot of fun to talk to her.We talk about everything under the sun, God included. It's actually kinda cool.
Here are some fall pictures I took last year, I can't believe it's been one year since Zach left!
One more year on his mission and then he will be home!
I am really sad I missed fall this year... here it is spring, very beginning of summer.
This first one is taken at the wall between our property and our neighbours.
I love how perfect the sky looks in it.
The only thing is that I caught my own shadow in the painting.
This one is my favorite, It's all the things I love in one picture.
It brings nature, country, and elegance all together. It is sophisticated, and girly, and beautiful.
I may be a bit biased though!
I was trying to include something about myself in this one.
It brings together my love of writing, my girly side, my favorite childhood memories and paperclips.
I was trying to get a really good picture of my corsage from Prom.
I opened to the pages of Emma, and to the ridiculous poem she was given by Mr. Elton.
We are going on vacation in November, to Florida!
I am so excited to go, it should be a lot of fun. My grandma is coming with us, and I always love seeing her. It will be amazing. Beaches, Disney, Harry Potter, what's not to enjoy, right?
I can't stand the wait! It will be so wonderful to be in the US even for a few weeks, and I have somethings I wants, namely chocolate chips and brown sugar. But also some new movies and some clothing. I already have my Christmas list written for this year.

Curly Hair and Maximum Ride
I spent most of the day alone at home. My parents went furniture shopping for a couch (which I am now sitting on) and my siblings are at someone's house playing. So of course I popped popcorn and sat back to watch a few chick flicks. I did my nails (cause duh! it's a girl thing) and curled my hair because you know I sometimes try to look nice. Sometimes. And then I remember why I DON'T do my hair all the time. It takes too long and the hair straightener is hot and I tend to burn myself quite a bit. And now because I am me, I always wonder why bother? Because I read a study once where guys like girls with straight hair better, so why go through the hassle if that's true?
Anyways... here was the result... nails and hair.
Ignore the silly fish face. Sorry its a selfy- I hate those.
Sorry for going all girly girl on you... anyways...
I have been reading a new series this week. The Maximum Ride Series. I love it. If you haven't read it, go and read it now. I love Max and the "flock". Just go read it. I started on Sunday and am on the 6th book in the series. It's that awesome. I had an emotional breakdown over the 5th one though. Too much Drama and heartbreak. I obviously need a life since I get too involved with the characters... the fictional characters.
I am going to go hide in my room.. My dad started dancing... eww.

I am in Peru!
I realize how bad I am at posting. Days go by then weeks, then months, and before you know it all this stuff happens and I still don't write anything.
Luckily, I am pretty sure that only 3 people read my blog. The 3 people that do read my blog may be wondering, why does she have 2 blogs if she can't even keep up 1? I would like to answer that I wanted to place some distance between this blog and that blog. I would also like to mention that they have two entire purposes. And that I have changed a lot since beginning this blog 4 years ago, at least I hope I did, because as I go back and read all the stupid things I wrote, I realize that they are not important. I didn't have focus or a purpose and of course and still learning and growing and changing.
I am in Peru. Lima, Peru. It is a bit unnerving because It really is a large city and so very different from many of the places I have lived before. That, and its a whole new country. But I love it. I love waking up and thinking "I'm in Peru."
I am a little cooped up, I don't have the freedom to go everywhere I like, but have the opportunity to try new things. Like today, when I went into an interview to volunteer with a Canadian based company here in Lima. I am really looking forward to it. I am also working out other opportunities I can have while here.
Its new and exciting, and I like it.
I don't even mind not knowing Spanish very well.
And that's my thought for the day, week, month, or time being, until I decide to post again.
P.S. I did promise the link to my other blog "Just Darcie in Peru..." so here it is:
justdarcie-inperu.blogspot.com
Enjoy!

Hello from a Night Owl
Midnight. When most people are found sleeping, I am found writing on my blog. Which, may I point out is useless ramblings. But it is midnight, what do you expect?
We ARE moving to Peru soon! I am so excited. I have waited a long time. And as it is fathers day, I am so excited that I will actually be able to live in the same country, let alone house! Its been a year since we have seen him for more than two weeks at a time. I also have some opportunities to do some service while I am down there. There is this place just outside of Lima that helps sick kids. I can go and volunteer there. I have quite a bit saved up to do humanitarian work, and hope to get a lot done in the year that I am there.
Did I mention I have graduated? Its a bit daunting, but also very welcome. High school is over rated. A new chapter begins in my life. We will see how it comes, to think! I started this blog at the beginning of my high school career. And I am so glad I have changed a lot since then!
Now, I have the last chapters of Mrs. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children to read. I am loving the book so far... and am very curious about what is going to happen!

Things to Do BEFORE you Grow Up!
1- Watch ALL Disney Movies. There is no buts, go and do. Now.
2- Do something spontaneous. Don't think, just do.
3- Read as much as possible. Don't hate books, they are portals to another world.
4- Play dress up. Who said you were ever too old to get all dolled up and go out?
5- Order dessert first. Preferably something chocolate.
6- Scream at the top of your lungs.
7-Visit Disneyland
List to be continued and updated.

Twenty Thirteen
Its been a long LONG time since writing! Here is the Latest, since July: 1- I turned 17 in July and started my last and final year of high school! 2- Zach went on his Mission in September. He was sent to Calgary Canada. We talked to him on Christmas day which was a lot of fun. Unfortunately he didn't have a camera on the computer he was using to Skype, so we couldn't see him. 3- Christmas was wonderful, I got lots of goodies. I got a new Camera, so LOTS of pictures to come! I was sick most of the time, but who doesn't love the holidays? In an effort to make friends with the yw in my ward, I invited them over for a party. We decorated cookies and made cards. It got a good turn out and was a lot of fun. Dad surprised us with tickets to go see the Nutcracker. We made a weekend of it and went to see Temple Square the night before. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory and Benihanas. The food was amazing. The Temple In front of a store window, the display was really cool, it was made entirely of Candy. The Cheesecake Factory.. yum!

The Update on Life
It's been too long since I have blogged about my life. We bought a house after looking at 38 houses! It look about two months. The house we choose is a big house in Richmond UT. It has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a den, a laundry/mud room and a family room/kitchen on the main floor. In the basement we have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sitting area, a movie room and a gym. I told you it was a big house. Me and Marissa have the upstairs bedrooms and a jack and jill bathroom between the two which is super nice since I wont have to share with the boys. My cousin Em and her husband Jared are going to be moving into the basement. We think it will all work out. I'm not quite sold on the idea yet. I like them but I am not really close with them and am not sure how I'ts going to work out. There will have to be a few changes with both of our families but it should be okay. The first (of two) shipment of stuff came yesterday and it was super exciting. I now have my bed and dresser and a makeshift desk. I got the extra bed since I wanted a bigger bed and marcus is using it until we buy him his own bed (or until Zach goes on his mission)OH! I forgot, Zach got his mission call to... CALGARY CANADA We just can't get away, eh? Other than that, nothing new. I met the YW's in my new ward and they all seem nice and pretty normal. I am almost finished with school, I just need to send in a few last minute assignments and marks. I got new bedding today too. It changes what I want my wall colors to be though(which I have changed a million times now). I'll try to be better about posting Heres a summeryish black and white pict I took a while ago...

This post is titled: Missing a.k.a Moving... Finally
I have recently found a joy in taking pictures. I found my camera (from when I went to camp 2 years ago, and started actually using it, but after uploading the pics of Dee's cupcakes, I have lost my camera cord! So now I canot show you the awesome cupcakes I made my friend for her 18th birthday this week or all the stuff for moving. Good news, we are moving this Wednesday! Only 6 days, and there is so much to do. I am going to miss my friends like crazy, but I will not miss Ontario Canada too much, and am looking forward to the change. We are headed to Utah, and then down to Panama! And we are going to by a house so we have a home base! And I get to decorate my room. I was thinking yellow, teal and gray? Or white?

Happy Single Awareness Day...
It's a day when those of us with no love life sigh as friends are surprised with chocolates and flowers.
A day when all the couples talk about who should be dating.
A day when we all with for a knight in shining armor... or in my case, a cowboy. I am happy being single though. It means I never have to worry about impressing someone, it means that I can be myself. And lounge around on these days while everyone is squirming about their love life.
I brought in valentines to my friends at school, including giving Andy a rose. Everyone should feel loved, especially on v-day.
I watched You Again, and am now getting back to my studies. I need to work on Science, and I need to start my essay. And I have math to do.
Happy "I love you" Awareness Day!

Cakes & Other Things in Life
Monday. Usually it is the worst day of the week, but I had a great day. Not very productive, but none the less great! And as soon as I find my camera cable, I will upload pictures of my awesome cake... It has pudding in the middle! And other than that, I did my school work and watched the Weekenders. My 2nd favorite show besides Doctor Who.
How was your Monday?

Hello Twenty Twelve!
It's twenty twelve. Can you believe it? Each year seems to go by so fast! People tell me its because I am growing up. why is change and growing up always the cause? I know it is really quite simple, but sometimes I think I am just figuring that out.
I am so excited for the year! My baby sister (aka my only sister) is turning 14 in January. Old enough to go to dances! Marcus (aka Midget) is now nine and just as questioning and adventurous as ever! Me? I am doing well (in my studies and at home) and am starting to look at colleges and universities. I'm not driving (yet) which is good for both me and the road (not gonna lie, I am a bit scared of this!) and am working on three different novels at once. And none of them seem to be going anywhere soon. Eventually (at least in my head) they will be published and make me rich and famous. Ive decided something. I really don't want ton be actress famous, merely J.K Rowling famous. Or Emily Dickinson famous. Truth be told, I would rather be famous before I died, rather than after.
Goodbye Twenty Eleven!

Up, Down and all Around... Teenagers Disease
I've been happy, sad, depressed, and feeling iffy all summer, but I guess that's what you get when your a teenager! It's not that my life is horrible, it just feels hard sometimes and even a little lonely. I mean, I live with 2 siblings (Zach is going to BYU) and my parents and have great friends, but sometimes I wish I could just talk to someone ELSE, someone who didn't know me, someone who cared, but wasnt all there.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Proposals?
A few years ago I wrote a post intitled: How do you want a guy to propose?
and here is what I wrote :
Are you one of those people that like the "get down on one knee" proposals? Or do you daydream of clever ways a man could propose?
Today I was thinking it would be cool if the guy brought you cupcakes with rings for a celebration of some sort and you find a real ring on one of them. But then, I was thinking it depends on the guy and how he says it. Although, if I loved the guy, I don't think I would care. But thinking about it, I would want it to be more romantical then rings and cupcakes. Something formal, yet something that says "I don't care what we are doing or where we are, I will always love you." As I said before, if I love the guy I won't care. But it is fun to think about. I mean, what else do I have to think about? School is boring and why think about the bad in the world? Friends are always in the back of my mind (as they know) so why not think about it? And I have a lot of time to fantasize. I am only 14 after all. But, maybe I should be thinking about dating before the actual proposal.
Yet again, I am going to go before I bore you.
With those thoughts,
Stargirl
Other then spelling "romantical" wrong(?) I have come to realize a lot about this topic. A) Dreams don't come true B) Men don't think like us.
Its a sad concept but its true. And the only reason I bring this up, is because my loving(ish) friend KC decided to ask the guy I like out which kind of sucks. But I have decided it was okay because I have almost no desire to date, much less get in a relationship! HA!
But also, thinking back, I really would love to have a guy propose to me in this way... or ask me to prom (which I can never go to BTW)
Ya,
Sometimes life can be a little depressing.

Why the change?
You might be wondering why I moved my blog, changed the name, and design, and the truth is, I wanted to start again... in a way. Or start over. But I can't deny my history in Post.
This blog will still be about me, the crazy things I do, the drama at school, and life in general. Its just me.
